Essay 2 Dialogue
"The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me"and "Coming Home Again" both have been similarity and differences. Both "The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me and "Coming Home Again" both authors are male, they both lived with their parents and both stories have something to do with schooling and education. " The Joy of Reading and Writing: Superman and Me" they are Indians that lives on the reservations they were brought up that schooling and education is not important. They are supposedly to be dumb. Alexie sure did not believed in that he wanted to be different, he wanted to be somebody. "Coming Home Again" the family strongly believed in school they know that schooling is important and that's the place to go to get a education to pursued a good career. Alexie were not sent away to go to school because he went to school on the reservation while Chang-rae Lee were sent away to go to school being away from home and family. Both of authors parents died. Alexie was his Dad and Chang-rae Lee loss his mother. Both stories share many similarity and differences but towards the end they both were able to achieve their dreams.

ReplyDeleteyou have a great start but I think you really need to give more details as to the similarities and differences. Both authors discover a llot about them selves and their heritage that they discuss with us. Maybe you could explain how the deaths affected the authors and how they relate to the two stories.
I would like to hear more about how you feel they were bale to achieve their dreams. I liked what you wrote it just needs alittle more depth.
