Coming Home Again Dialogue

Why does his mother regret allowing him to attend boarding school?

There are a few reasons why his mom regrets sending him to boarding school. One of the main reason why his mom regrets sending him to boarding school its because she found out that she had cancer in her stomach and that she was going to die. In this case it limits her the ability to spend quality time with him and showing or doing things that she didn't have the opportunity to do with him when he was home. The other reasons why she regret sending him to boarding school is that he's her only son and he's the one that spends time with her in the kitchen when she's cooking. In an Asian family its important to have a male child. They only want a baby boy so when he gets older and have his own family he can carry on the last name. We should picture our self as the writer, asking questions and understanding its point. I find myself reading something over a few times because I don't understand it the first time. I like the idea of jotting down questions and important points so I don't have to read it multiple times.

Essay 1:

This little girl right here is my niece. Her name is Oilivia. She was born on April 25, 2007. She will be turning three pretty soon. I was born to a family of five children, I'm the second oldest. I have one older sister and three younger siblings. I don't have any relatives here besides my immediate family. Olivia is the first grandchild in the family. Since she was born she changed our live. She brought us happiness, joy, laughter, a child can over. Before Olivia was born our family was quiet, but after she was born it gets loud everyday. Especially now, during the holidays, I always wanted to see her face because she's the only grandchild. I'm so surprised that a child can change so much in someone's live. Overall, the reason why I choose this picture is because she's important in my life and not just to me, but to all of the family members. Everyone loves her and adores her.
